On April 18, 2019 Dr. Shawn Anthony Robinson testified at the Wisconsin Assembly on Education public hearing on Assembly Bill 110. The bill relates to developing a guidebook for teaching those who have dyslexia or related conditions. Robinson testified on the bill by sharing his story of being dyslexic and what worked for him to learn effectively. Robinson also highlighted how being a person of color with dyslexia resulted in him get mislabeled as having behavioral and emotional disorder.
